COFFEE WITH A COP TRAINING WORKSHOP
Join Coffee with a Cop co-founders and global brand managers Hawthorne California Police Captain Michael Ishii and Lieutenant Robbie Williams for a four-hour workshop on how best to prepare and implement Coffee with a Cop at your Department as well as sharing different community policing program ideas to build value for your agency.
You will learn current best practices, do’s and don’ts , communication issues, Officer “buy in” and how Coffee with a Cop can kick start community policing philosophies in your department. Real world examples will be presented on successes and failures of Coffee with a Cop from events around the world.
Lieutenant Williams will give a brief overview and discussion on his class "Responding to Mental Health Crisis" by sharing his experiences on how to implement sound training to "better prepare officers to respond to individuals suffering from crisis related to Autism; PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorders); TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury); Schizophrenia; Bipolar Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities". This will be a brief overview taken from a full-day course.
Captain Ishii will share his experiences on how to create an organizational culture based on value building and brand identity for your agency in your respective communities by incorporating non-traditional ideas based on many private-sector philosophies.
Normally covered by Sgt Cognac (he is not able to attend), Capt. Ishii and Lt. Williams will share their experiences on how your agency can work with pro sports teams and player unions to engage youth on a local level. Examples will be given such as the Hawthorne Force Youth Hockey and the HPD Futsal programs that were built as "grass-roots" programs on a limited budget.
