COFFEE WITH A COP TRAINING WORKSHOP

monday, february 24TH, 2020

howard county, maryland

Join Coffee with a Cop co-founders Hawthorne California Police Sergeant Chris Cognac (retired), Police Chiefs Michael Ishii and Billy Bolin for a morning workshop on how best to prepare and implement Coffee with a Cop at your Department as well as sharing different community policing program ideas to build value for your agency.

You will learn current best practices, do’s and don’ts , communication issues, Officer “buy in” and how Coffee with a Cop can kick start community policing philosophies in your department. Real world examples will be presented on successes and failures (we’ve seen many) of Coffee with a Cop events from around the country.   Our Instructors have presented this class across the country. We will cover unique perspectives on Branding for your organization, social media perspectives , and the challenges of getting agency buy in on Community Policing programs.

We now added a new segment on social media titled: “Serious Shenanigans: The Balance between Fun and Information without Losing Credibility”. A longer version of this class was presented at the 2019 IACP conference by Chief Bolin and staff from the Evansville (Indiana) Police Department.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

What we cover in the class will benefit everyone from line-level Officers to Command Staff.  No small group break-outs, hand-outs or boring videos. We believe everyone will get something out of this class. If you are planning an upcoming CwC event, then we highly recommend the "host"or the person in charge of the event to attend.  There is something for everyone!

COST

The class is free!  The Howard County Police Department, Hawthorne Police Department, and support from Axon cover the costs of the class. We just ask that you register (see below).  We also take last minute walk-ins.  Just show up if you are not busy that day!
