NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male Black adult that occurred on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 11:56 a.m. in the 13600 block Kornblum Avenue, Hawthorne.
Detectives have learned Hawthorne Police Department officers responded to a call at the location regarding a gunshot victim. When they arrived, they found the victim in the courtyard of the apartment complex with fatal gunshot wounds to the upper torso.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect is a male Black adult last seen running into a parking garage beneath the location.
