Our Community Affairs Unit oversees specific areas of the city. The main goal is address community concerns specific to individual neighborhoods.

Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting with business owners

  • Meeting with neighborhood groups. We have eleven neighborhood groups that we interact with.

  • Help create business and neighborhood groups where needed.

  • Coordinating resources to address crime and quality of life issues.

The Hawthorne Police Department recently switched to a new crime map provider to increase the accuracy and functionality of their crime mapping service to the Hawthorne Community.
